Moses in the Bulrushes

Having nearly mastered the stories of Snow White, Noah’s Ark, Rapunzel and Jonah, I decided to take up a more challenging read, Moses in the Bulrushes. It’s hard to understand why someone (read Pharaoh) would decide to have all baby boys killed, and why a group of people (the Hebrews) would be mistreated just because they were from another country. Anyway, I hope to gain a better understanding of the story but so far, I love baby Moses, so much so I prayed for him before I slept. Mummy almost shed a tear leaving me confused as I don’t get what’s sad about praying for baby Moses.

I also adore the cute little basket that Moses’ mummy made for him, for the sole purpose of hiding him in the river, far away from Pharaoh and his people. The basket was made out of straw, palm leaf, some wood and papyrus, something I would love to try out!
Onto things I have tried out already, I recently rocked this gorgeous polka dotted fedora which has three different shades of blue on it (Dodger, Glaucous and Egyptian blue) carefully put together, blended with some white spots as well as faint pink and black dots. Quite an interesting ensemble, but more interesting is the fabric which, I kid you not, appears to be a blend of denim and straw! Baby Moses must have rocked that in his days 🙂
Enjoy the photos and let me know if the pairing was a hit or a miss!

Hey Rachael, glad you love the look. The dress is from Next UK courtesy of House of Tych (check them out on FB, they do personal shopping from UK to Kenya). Shoes are from Mr Price, you could still catch them as we bought them some time last month.
